Vishvesvaraya Dam

The Vishvesvaraya Dam was built by Sir M Vishweshwaraya. This dam is on the Kaveri River. The lake formed by the dam is called the Krishnarajasagara. The dam is often referred to as the Krishnarajasagara Dam or KRS Dam.

This dam is the bone of contention between the south Indian states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in the water dispute over the waters of the Kaveri.
