Valiant Is the Word for Carrie

Valiant Is the Word for Carrie is a 1936 film which tells the story of a woman who runs an orphanage, fighting for the children against tough odds. It stars Gladys George, Arline Judge[?], Harry Carey[?], Isabel Jewell[?] and Hattie McDaniel.

The movie was adapted by Claude Binyon[?] from the novel by Barry Benefield[?]. It was directed by Wesley Ruggles[?].

It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress (Gladys George).

In 1938, the Three Stooges made a short called Violent is the Word for Curly, a takeoff on the name of this then-popular film.
