User talk:Sonya L/ban

< User talk:Sonya L

Some people seem to believe this user is user:DW or user:Black Widow. Which is nice.

The evidence for this is overwhelming: in this edit (/w/wiki.phtml?title=Wikipedia:Village_pump&diff=891261&oldid=891257) Sonya claims to be writing "on behalf of" Black Widow.

Burn her. She's a witch. Build a bridge out of her. etc, etc, etc.

As ever, you can put me down in the "don't know and don't care" camp. Martin 20:36 May 8, 2003 (UTC)

I deleted this unwarranted garbage. If anyone wants to ban me please have the courage and self-respect to take it up with the proper authories. Sonya L

The Wikipedia community is the proper authority.

(from User talk:JohnOwens) You might want to add User:Sonya L to your most wanted page. 'She' reportedly left a comment for Zoe from Black Widow at the village pump (check the history). -- Notheruser 04:16 May 5, 2003 (UTC)

(from User talk:Zoe) Please advise why you made the change to my edit of the article Ruwenzori Range as per the following:

  • View (previous 50) (next 50) (20 | 50 | 100 | 250 | 500).

Thank you. Sonya L

Hi Zoe, after reading the above I had a look at Sonya L's edits. Could I ask why you reverted their edits at Jeffrey Archer, William Stairs and List of progressive rock musicians? I can see nothing strange about them and you give no reasons for your reversions. I'm just a bit baffled! Thanks -- Ams80 15:52 May 8, 2003 (UTC)

Seconded. I see no parallels to Lir's editing preferences either. --Eloquence 16:00 May 8, 2003 (UTC)

Fair enough, I didn't realise that there was a link between Sonya L[?] and a banned person. Thanks for clearing it up. -- Ams80 18:40 May 8, 2003 (UTC)

I placed the following at User talk:JohnOwens today.

Sonya, please elaborate on your connection to "Black Widow", who seems to be connected to DW, who has been banned for his repeated violations of Wikiquette. Please understand that we have to be careful about users repeatedly re-appearing under different names. --Eloquence 18:46 May 8, 2003 (UTC)

We do?

Well, maybe we don't. But there are people who feel strongly about these things, and if an existing ban is in place, I will not oppose its enforcement. --Eloquence

hehe

(sonya's edit to Wikipedia:Vandalism in progress) I was advised that more than one of my contributions was vandalized. Please revert this.

The very first posting this "person" made to Wikipedia is at /w/wiki.phtml?title=Wikipedia:Village_pump&oldid=891207 (/w/wiki.phtml?title=Wikipedia:Village_pump&oldid=891207), in which s/he vandalized one of my postings to the Village Pump. -- Zoe

Well, to be fair, as I tried to point out at the time when you were editing it, it copied your paragraph and swapped a couple of names around. See the diffs of both edits I've linked to above, or the note in the edit summaries from the time. -- John Owens 01:09 May 9, 2003 (UTC)
Followup: history here (/w/wiki.phtml?title=Wikipedia:Village_pump&limit=50&offset=60&action=history) currently-- John Owens
Oh, and also, it had been around for 6 days and 26 edits before it made the Villag Pump posts. ([3] (/w/wiki.phtml?title=Special:Contributions&limit=50&offset=30&target=Sonya_L), currently)-- John Owens

(to Martin) Just a thought: you might want to make your sarcasm a bit more obvious. I think User:Sonya L really thought you wanted her burned as a witch. :-) Evercat 21:15 May 8, 2003 (UTC)

Come and see the violence inherent in the system! Help! Help! She's being repressed! Martin
