USS Hawes (FFG-53)

USS Hawes (FFG-53) is a later model Oliver Hazard Perry-class guided missile frigate. The contract to build Hawes was awarded to Bath Iron Works May 22, 1981, and her keel was laid August 26, 1983. She was launched February 18, 1984, delivered February 1, 1985, and commissioned February 9, 1984.

Length: 453 feet overall, 408 feet waterline
Beam: 47 feet
Draft: 26 feet maximum, 17 feet limit
Displacement: 3182 tons light, 4092 tons full, 910 tons dead
Armament
