Bath Iron Works

Bath Iron Works (BIW) is located on the Kennebuc River[?] in Bath, Maine, and BIW has served as the lead shipyard for the U.S. Navy since the 1950's. BIW was purchased in 1955 by General Dynamics. As of 2003, BIW is the largest private employer in the state of Maine. In the last century BIW has been responsible for building a myriad of private, commercial, and military vessels. BIW has built battleships, frigates, cruisers, and destroyers, including the AEGIS Class Destroyer - the most advanced warship[?] in the world.
