Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 43.5 km² (16.8 mi²). 43.5 km² (16.8 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 2,095 people, 725 households, and 584 families residing in the township. The population density is 48.2/km² (124.8/mi²). There are 743 housing units at an average density of 17.1/km² (44.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 91.69% White, 3.68% African American, 0.38% Native American, 0.33% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 2.43% from other races, and 1.48% from two or more races. 2.67% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 725 households out of which 40.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 72.4% are married couples living together, 5.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 19.4% are non-families. 14.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.88 and the average family size is 3.24.
In the township the population is spread out with 29.1% under the age of 18, 5.9% from 18 to 24, 31.8% from 25 to 44, 24.6% from 45 to 64, and 8.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 104.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 103.6 males.
