University of North London

The University of North London is the name of a former university in the United Kingdom. As of August 1, 2002, it became part of the new London Metropolitan University, along with London Guildhall University[?].

The university was previously a polytechnic, named the Polytechnic of North London[?] since the mid-1970's, although its full history as an educational institution stretches back to the 1890's. In the 1970's and early 1980's it was under the control of the Inner London Education Authority - part of the Greater London Council. It gained university status in 1992, along with other polytechnics in England.
