Other candidates: John G. Woolley of the Prohibition Party received 209,004 popular votes; Eugene V. Debs, Socialist Party[?] 86,935; Wharton Barker of the People's Party[?] 50,340; and Joseph F. Malloney of the Socialist Labor Party 40,900 votes.
William McKinley was shot September 6, 1901 and died September 14, 1901. He was succeeded by Theodore Roosevelt.
