Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 2,757 people, 663 households, and 653 families residing in the base. The population density is 73.1/km² (189.2/mi²). There are 663 housing units at an average density of 17.6/km² (45.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the base is 74.79% White, 14.22% African American, 0.47% Native American, 3.08% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 2.83% from other races, and 4.57% from two or more races. 8.27% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
