Treaty of Roskilde

The Treaty of Roskilde was signed on February 26, 1658in the danish city Roskilde, whereby Denmark sacrificed nearly half her territory to save the rest. But this was not enough and a council held at Gottorp[?] on July 7, Charles X resolved to wipe from the map of Europe an inconvenient rival, and without any warning, in defiance of all international equity, let loose his veterans upon Denmark a second time.

The Treaty of Roskilde was a result of Charles X Gustav of Sweden (Karl X Gustav) glorious occupation af Zealand, which started with the landing on February 11, 1958.

The Treaty of Roskilde was preceded by the Treaty of Taastrup[?] on February 18, 1958.
