Trading Spaces

Trading Spaces is an hour-long television reality program on the cable channel The Learning Channel. The format of the show is based on the BBC TV series Changing Rooms[?].

The plot of each show is this: two sets of neighbors decide to redecorate one room in each others' homes. Each two-person team gets two days, $1,000 budget, the services of a designer (who seems to take over the project), and a part-time carpenter. The neighbors have no say in what happens in their own homes, but can give input into what happens in the home they are redecorating.

At the end of the show, the neighbors switch back to find out how the room in their own house has been transformed. Usually, the reaction is favorable, but disappointments have happened in the past.
