Tortell

Tortell (Catalan [tur'teL]) is a Catalan typical O-shaped pastry stuffed with marzipan[?], that on some special occasions is topped with glazed fruit.

Below image of a Tortell de Reis, traditionally eaten January 6, day of the Three Wise Men according Catholic calendary. This size, aprox. 50 cm diameter, usually serves 8 people.

This tortell de reis contains two hidden surprises: a dried fava bean, and a little figurine the same size. The comensal that gets the figurine in his cut, gets crowned with the cartone crown. The comensal that gets the dried fava bean in his cut, gets to pay for the pastry.
