Tigerlily is an album by
singer-songwriter Natalie Merchant, released on
June 20,
1995 (see
1995 in music). Her first solo album, after splitting from the
10,000 Maniacs,
Tigerlily is more
rock-oriented than her previous work. The album received mixed reviews, with many praising Merchant's confessional writing style, and other criticizing the same for undue sentimentality.
The song "River" is a tribute to River Phoenix. Tigerlily peaked at #13 on Billboard's Top 200 album countdown.
