Tielt is a municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality comprises the city of Tielt proper and the towns of Aarsele[?], Kanegem[?] and Schuiferskapelle[?]. On January 1st, 2000 Tielt had a total population of 19,208 (9,513 males and 9,695 females). The total area is 69.21 km² which gives a population density of 277.53 inhabitants per km².
