TIE Advanced

The TIE Advanced, a fictional starfighter in the Star Wars universe, is an updated, more advanced form of TIE Fighter. In the movie series, its only appearance is in A New Hope, flown by Darth Vader as he attempts to stop Luke Skywalker in his X-Wing from destroying the first Death Star.

In the X-wing/TIE-fighter computer game series, the TIE Advanced makes several appearances. In these games, it is faster, more manoeuverable, and better-armed than any rebel craft.
