The Waltons

The Waltons was a television series about a family living in the Blue Ridge Mountains[?] in the American state of Virginia. The family, consisting of Olivia and John Walton and their seven children, struggles to live a decent life during the Great Depression and the Second World War. The audience follows this family's existence through the eyes of John-Boy, the eldest son and an aspiring novelist.

The show was created by Earl Hammer Jr.[?]. Its production by Lorimar Productions[?] started on September 14, 1972, and the final episode was aired on August 20, 1980. Some specials followed in the 1980s and '90s.
