Chosen from 400 auditioning dancers, models and singers, the trio's debut was in an ad aired on Super Bowl Sunday 1991. This nickname was earned by lip-synching the words Uh-Huh in the advertizements.
They are not to be confused by Ray Charles' actual backup singers, the Raylettes[?].
The Girls were played by Melaini Paul, 25, Gretchen Palmer, 28, and Darlene Dillinger, 26.
