The Killing Fields

The Killing Fields (1984) is an award-winning dramatic film about the Cambodian aftermath of the Vietnam War, based on the experience of real-life journalist Sydney Schanberg[?]. The film, which won 3 Academy Awards, was directed by Rolland Joffe[?] and stars Sam Waterston, Haing S. Ngor[?], John Malkovich, and Julian Sands[?]. Ngor won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role; cinematographer Chris Menges[?] won an Academy Award for Best Cinematography. The film also won for Best Editing.
