The Haydn Quartet

Although virtually forgotten today, at the start of the Twentieth Century The Haydn Quartet were undisputed kings of the Barbershop sound. Recording both in their own right and with some of the day's biggest solo stars including Billy Murray[?] and Henry Burr[?], they were one of the most successful acts of the century's first decade. They achieved numerous American best-sellers including perennial favourites, Bring Back My Bonnie To Me (1901), Sunbonnet Sue (1908) and By The Light Of The Silvery Moon(1910).
