The Great Santini

The Great Santini is a 1979 film which tells the story of a highly successful Marine officer whose success in the military does not transfer into success with his family, especially his teenaged son. It stars Robert Duvall, Blythe Danner, Michael O'Keefe[?], Lisa Jane Persky[?], Julie Anne Haddock[?], Stan Shaw[?] and David Keith[?].

The movie was adapted by Lewis John Carlino[?] from the novel by Pat Conroy[?]. It was directed by Carlino.

It was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Robert Duvall) and Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Michael O'Keefe).
