The Constant Nymph

The Constant Nymph is a 1943 film which tells the story of a teenaged girl who falls in love with a family friend who eventually marries her cousin. The two girls show mutual jealousy over their common love for the man. It stars Charles Boyer, Joan Fontaine, Brenda Marshall[?], Alexis Smith[?], Charles Coburn[?], Dame May Whitty[?] and Peter Lorre.

The movie was Kathryn Scola[?] from the play by Basil Dean[?] and Margaret Kennedy[?] from the novel by Kennedy. It was directed by Edmund Goulding[?].

It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress (Joan Fontaine).

The movie had been made previously in 1934, adapted by Dorothy Farnum[?] and directed by Dean. It stars Victoria Hopper[?], Brian Aherne[?] and Leonora Corbett[?].

It had also previously been made in 1928, adapted by Adrian Brunel[?] and Alma Reville and directed by Brunel and Basil Dean. It stars Ivor Novello, Mabel Poulton[?] and Benita Hume[?].
