The Avengers

The Avengers can mean:

  1. A team of fictional characters in the Marvel Comics universe. The team has featured in their own magazine since September, 1963.They are a superhero team, much the equivalent of DC Comics' Justice League in that they all have their own careers but get together to work as a group. Their ranks have included such notables as Captain America, the Vision[?], The Incredible Hulk, Thor, and Iron Man.
  2. A 1960s British television show, The Avengers starring Patrick Macnee and Diana Rigg, and a 1970s sequel series called The New Avengers.
  3. A 1990s film, based on the characters of the television series: see The Avengers (film)[?].
