Patrick Macnee

Patrick Macnee (born February 6, 1922), British actor. Despite numerous roles in theatre, on television and in cinema, Patrick Macnee is still best known for as the inimitable secret agent John Steed in the series The Avengers, in which he played (chronological order) opposite female partners Honor Blackman[?] (as Cathy Gale), Diana Rigg (Mrs Emma Peel) and Linda Thorson[?] (Tara King). Years later "his" John Steed resurfaced in The New Avengers opposite Joanna Lumley and Gareth Hunt, respectively Purdey and Gambit.

Notable roles further include his part in A View to a Kill, parts in Alias Smith and Jones, and Battlestar Galactica's Count Iblis.
