Tama Nui-Te-Ra

In Polynesian mythology, Tama Nui-Te-Ra is the solar deity. Maui decided that the days were too short and caught the sun with a lasso[?], then forced it to go slower. Tama Nui-Te-Ra agreed and gave fire to humanity as well.
