Synthetic Polymers

Many synthetic polymers are plastics and fibers, such as polythene and nylon, but there are a surprising number of other examples, used in a bewildering array of applications.

The personal care industry uses polymers to aid in texture of products, binding, and moisture retention. Examples include hair gel and conditioners.
