Super Smash Bros. was followed up with a sequel in 2001, Super Smash Bros. Melee, for the Nintendo GameCube. It kept the same great gameplay, and made it better-looking with the extra power of the GameCube. It also added Trophies which were collectable and are considered as a Nintendo Museum of sorts. SSBM also added several new characters, most of which are somewhat obscure to mainstream gamers but familiar to all true Nintendo fans.
HAL Laboratory also recorded a concert featuring Super Smash Bros. Melee, which, in turn, featured music from many Nintendo concerts. Subscribers to the magazine Nintendo Power recieved an album with the music for free. The list of songs in the album is listed below...
