Leopold Stokowski

Leopold Stokowski (April 18, 1882 - 1977) (also known as Antoni Stanislaw Boleslawowicz Stokowski) was conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra[?], was named principal conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra in 1912, and was conductor for the NBC Symphony Orchestra and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra[?], and was founder of the New York City Symphony Orchestra[?]. He arranged the music for Disney’s Fantasia.

He married three times; his third wife was Gloria Vanderbilt (born 1925), who is known as a designer. He had an affair with Greta Garbo in 1937-8.
