Statism

Statism is used as a derogative by anarchists for any opinion that endorses, or acknowledges the need for, a state. According to the users of the term such an opinion implies, among other things, the notion that individual rights (the right to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness) are neither absolute nor natural but are relative and arbitrarily determined by rule of the state.
