Spruce

Spruces are trees of the genus Picea. They are coniferous evergreens of the northern temperate and boreal regions of the earth.

Spruce trees can be distinguished by their whorled branches and pyramidal form. The needles, or leaves, of spruce trees are attatched to the branches in a spiral fashion and are singly borne.

Spruce wood is used for many purposes, ranging from musical instruments to rough lumber for construction.
