Guy Green

Redirected from Sir Guy Green

Sir Guy Green is the current acting Governor General of Australia and Governor of Tasmania. In 2003, following the controversy of Peter Hollingworth's past handling of child abuse allegations, Green moved into the Governor-General's residence because by then he was the seniormost state governor. When Hollingworth officially resigned in May 2003, Green became the administrator, or in effect acting Governor-General, of Australia.

Sir Guy was born in Launceston[?], and was Tasmania's first Tasmanian-born governor. He was knighted in 1982 and became Governor of Tasmania in 1995.
