Shinjuku

Found in Western Tokyo, Shinjuku (新宿) is home to one of the biggest train, bus and subway stations in Tokyo. It is heavily populated with commuters and it ranks as the most highly used station every year. It is located near the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office, where political and public administration takes place. The following lines connect at Shinjuku station:
  • Marunouchi Line (subway)
  • Chiyoda Line (subway)
  • Sobu Line
  • Chuo Line
  • Yamanote Line
  • Odakyu Line
  • Keio Line
  • Saikyo Line
  • Narita Express
  • Toei Shinjuku Line (subway)
  • Toei Ooedo Line (subway)
  • Seibu Line (from Seibu-Shinjuku station)

This makes Shinjuku a very convenient station where commuters can transfer onto different lines.

Not only is Shinjuku convenient, but it is also often considered to be a great place to hang out: there are many shopping malls, restaurants, and movie theaters packed into the small city of Shinjuku. The city of Shinjuku developed into its current form after Kanto Dai Shinsai[?].
