Sewing

Sewing is an ancient craft involving the stitching of cloth or other materials, using needle and thread.

Seams are produced, or items such as buttons[?] are attached to material.

There is a distinction between "plain" and "fancy" sewing.....

Sewing is the foundation for many needle arts and crafts, such as applique, embroidery, canvas work, patchwork, quilting and the like.
