Season of the Inundation

The Season of the Inundation is the ancient Egyptian Spring which would last for 100 days while floodwater and silt, gathered behind 2m dams and dikes, would seep into the surrounding farmland. This was also the period during which granite would be sailed down the Nile from the southern quarries.

This season would be followed by the Season of the Going Out.
