Sammy Gravano

Sammy "The Bull" Gravano was underboss of the Gambino family[?] in the 1980s under John Gotti.

Gravano famously turned state's evidence and testified against Gotti in exchange for a reduced sentence. Gotti received life in prison; Gravano served five years on racketeering[?] charges, and then entered the Witness Protection Program[?].

Several years later, Gravano resurfaced in Arizona after leaving the Witness Protection Program. Shortly thereafter, he was arrested and charged as the ringleader of an Ecstasy trafficking organization there.

On February 24, 2003, New Jersey state prosecutors announced they will pursue murder charges against Gravano for his alleged role in a 1980 slaying. [1] (http://www.cnn.com/2003/LAW/02/24/iceman.confession.ap/index)
