Salix

Salix, of the Salicaceae[?] family, is the genus of willows.

There are about 300 species and countless varieties, hybrids and cultivars. For example:

  • Salix vitellina - Golden willow
  • Salix fragilis - Crack willow
  • Salix caprea - Goat willow
  • Salix purpurea - Purple osier willow
  • Salix cinerea - Grey Sallow
