Fry was born in London and specialised in landscape painting. In 1910, he organised an exhibition for the Post-Impressionists[?], the first in London. It was patronised by Lady Ottoline Morrell, with whom Fry had a fleeting romantic attachment. In 1913 he founded the Omega Workshops[?], a design workshop whose members included Vanessa Bell and her lover, Duncan Grant.
