Sir Ridley Scott is a film director. He was born November 30, 1937, in the United Kingdom. Having cut his teeth on television commercials, he graduated to Hollywood, where he has produced a number of extremely famous films.
He received the Academy Award for Directing for Gladiator in 2000, and was knighted in the 2003 New Year Honours.
Scott also directed a famous TV commercial for the Apple Macintosh computer, entitled 1984.
