Schouwen-Duiveland

Schouwen-Duiveland (population: 34,496) is an island and a municipality in the southwestern Netherlands, in the province of Zeeland. The municipality covers an area of 301.34 km² (of which 69.81 km² water).

The municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland consists the following towns, villages and townships: Brijdorpe[?], Brouwershaven[?], Bruinisse[?], Burgh[?], Burghsluis[?], Dreischor[?], Elkerzee[?], Ellemeet[?], Haamstede[?], Kerkwerve[?], Looperskapelle[?], Moriaanshoofd[?], Nieuwerkerk[?], Nieuwerkerke[?], Noordgouwe[?], Noordwelle[?], Oosterland[?], Ouwerkerk[?], Renesse, Scharendijke[?], Schuddebeurs[?], Serooskerke[?], Sirjansland[?], Westenschouwen[?], Zierikzee, Zonnemaire[?] (there is no village called Schouwen-Duiveland itself).

Renesse is a popular tourist resort with free bus services in the area (in summer only).

The Brouwersdam is a dam, part of the Delta Works, from Schouwen-Duiveland to Goedereede, the west part of the island of Goeree-Overflakkee in South Holland.
