Rem Koolhaas

Rem Koolhaas (born 1944) is a former journalist and screenwriter educated in architecture at the Architecture Association[?] in London. He was born in The Hague, Netherlands.

Koolhaas is more of a theorist than a designer. He was head architect of the Euralille[?] project in Lille (1988). Among his other projects are designing the Netherlands Dance Theater in The Hague (1988), the Netherlands Embassy in Berlin and the Nexus Housing at Fukuoka, Japan. In 2000, he won the Pritzker Architecture Prize.

Perhaps better known for his books than his buildings, he has authored several seminal works in architectural theory[?], including Delerious New York, and S,M,L,XL, a collaboration with the graphic designer Bruce Mau.
