Reactors deal with several aspects of chemical engineering. A chemical reactor where many of the chemical processes occur.
The three most important factors to consider in a chemical reactor are:
- mass transfer
- heat transfer
- chemical kinetics[?]
All three factors are important and interrelated. It is the job of a chemical engineer to ensure that a reaction proceeds with the highest efficiency, producing the purest product using the least possible amount of energy.
