Ranunculales
The Ranunculales are an order of flowering plants, which belong among the basal eudicots. Newer systems include the following families:
- Family Ranunculaceae (buttercup[?] family)
- Family Berberidaceae[?] (barberry[?] family)
- Family Menispermaceae[?] (monseed[?] family)
- Family Lardizabalaceae[?]
- Family Circaeasteraceae[?]
- Family Eupteleaceae[?]
- Family Papaveraceae[?] (poppy family)
- Family Fumariaceae
- Family Pteridophyllaceae[?]
A few other families may be separated out from the Ranunculaceae. In the older Cronquist system, the Eupteleaceae were excluded, and the Papaveraceae and Fumariaceae (including the Pteridophyllaceae) were treated as a separate order Papaverales.
