Rani Lakshmi Bai

Rani Lakshmi Bai was the female leader of Jhansi[?], in the Maratha Empire[?]. Her territory was taken from her under the Doctrine of Lapse[?] in 1853. She led a revolt against the British during the Events of 1857[?] and died fighting.

Later, when the Indian National Army created a female unit, it was named after her.
