Ralph Abernathy (March 11, 1936 - 1996) was an American civil rights leader.

He helped Martin Luther King organize the Montgomery Bus Boycott and as president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference[?] was active in the US civil rights movement.

Abernathy went on to serve as a vice president of Rev. Sun Myung Moon's American Freedom Coalition, a group which seeks to unite conservatives to work toward common goals, such as traditional values, the sanctity of life, and anticommunism.
