Ragdoll cat

Redirected from Ragamuffin cat

The Ragdoll is a breed of longhaired cat with an unusually placid and affectionate nature. When picked up, ragdolls go limp and relax, hence their name. Ragdolls have a sturdy body, short legs, and a long thick coat with siamese-style points.

There were attempts to establish several competing ragdoll-type cats, among them the Ragamuffin, but these were not accepted as 'breeds' by the Cat Fanciers Association[?] as there was not enough difference between them and the already-recognised Ragdoll.

Because of their good nature, ragdoll cats make extremely good family pets, but care must be taken that they are not mishandled by young children.
