Puerto Penasco, Sonora

Redirected from Puerto Penasco

Puerto Penasco is a small city in the state of Sonora, northern Mexico, next to the Sea of Cortes. This town is known for its fishing and tourism industries.

Puerto Penasco, known commonly in English as Rocky Point is visited by many tourists (particularly those that reside in Arizona) every year. It has a small airport that, although open to the general public, does not have the capability to allow airliners to land. Because of this people who have to fly to vacation in Puerto Penasco must often fly either to nearby Hermosillo, Guaymas[?] or Mexicali[?].

Puerto Penasco has a large beach line, and there is a statue of Benito Juarez in a plaza located near the beaches.
