Printer point

In photography, a printer point is a unit of relative exposure equal to a fraction of a stop.

This numbering scheme is used in photographic printing[?] and photographic filters[?]. To interpret printer points, it is first necessary to know what fraction of a stop corresponds to a printer point. Different groups of people use different numbers of printer points to a stop: common figures include 3, 7, 12, and 13.
