Porter (carrying)

Porters were used extensively in the ancient period as "beasts of burden[?]". In ancient Sumer, women were enslaved to carry wool and flax. Porters are still carrying things in many third-world countries.

The term porter is sometimes used to refer to airport or hotel employees but generally refers to slave labor.
