Port Sudan

Port Sudan is The Republic of Sudan's main port city[?], on the Red Sea. It was founded by the British in 1905 and was used to transport the nations agricultural riches of cotton and sesame seed including the cereal sorghum.

A city of nearly 300,000 is known for its diving, great beaches and offshore petroleum interests. Tourists often use Port Sudan as a departure point to cross the Red Sea to Jeddah[?] in Saudi Arabia.
