Port Hadlock-Irondale is a town located in Jefferson County, Washington. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 3,476.

Geography Port Hadlock-Irondale is located at 48°2'12" North, 122°46'30" West (48.036614, -122.774938)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 20.0 km² (7.7 mi²). 17.3 km² (6.7 mi²) of it is land and 2.8 km² (1.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 13.82% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 3,476 people, 1,407 households, and 955 families residing in the town. The population density is 201.2/km² (521.3/mi²). There are 1,537 housing units at an average density of 89.0/km² (230.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 90.74% White, 0.32% African American, 1.93% Native American, 1.41% Asian, 0.09% Pacific Islander, 0.58% from other races, and 4.95% from two or more races. 2.50% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 1,407 households out of which 34.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.6% are married couples living together, 11.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 32.1% are non-families. 25.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.47 and the average family size is 2.96.

In the town the population is spread out with 27.2% under the age of 18, 7.3% from 18 to 24, 27.7% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 13.7% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 97.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 99.5 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $32,202, and the median income for a family is $34,847. Males have a median income of $34,583 versus $22,500 for females. The per capita income for the town is $15,721. 14.4% of the population and 13.6% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 20.5% are under the age of 18 and 8.2% are 65 or older.
