Pomeranian (German Pommersch) is a Low Saxon dialect. It is the language of the German Pomeranians in western Pomerania, which today is included in the Bundesland of Germany called Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It is a form of Low Saxon with Slavic influence.

Pomeranian is also a group of Lekhitic dialects, including Kashub and the extinct Slovincian. These dialects were mainly spoken in eastern Pomerania, which today is included in Poland.
